Eleven KFOR soldiers injured
Albanian protest in Kosovska Mitrovica

KOSOVO, Sunday - Eleven KFOR soldiers were injured during the recent two day protest carried out by Kosovo Albanians in the Southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, Commander of the French KFOR Brigade told the press today. Around 1,000 Kosovo Albanians took part in the riots in Kosovska Mitrovica which were believed to be against international peace forces. French KFOR forces were forced to use tear gas and clubs to control the rioting crowd. The curfew in the town will be extended for a further three days.

KFOR reports today that the situation in Kosovska Mitrovica is under control and Head of UNMIK Bernard Kouchner is due to visit the town today.
