    ALBANIAN PRISONER COMMITED SUICIDE

Besnik Restelica, a Kosovo Albanian who was under arrest for
alleged membership of the terrorist group ``Liberation army of
Kosovo,'' hanged himself, say Albanian groups. Two policemen
informed his family that he had committed suicide in prison on
Sunday. The Democratic Union of Kosovo has confirmed his death,
and will release an official statement. Mr. Restelica denied that
he was a member of the terrorist group, which appears to have been
active in Kosovo recently. His lawyer says that he was denied
access to his client over the last few days, Beta reports.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY: NO ONE CAN DAMAGE UNITY OF ZAJEDNO

Reports that Zajedno is divided are false and show how weak the
socialist party is, if they have nothing better to offer the
people than a desperate attempt to damage the opposition; ``
Zajedno intends to achieve its final goal-democratisation of
Serbia-and no one can damage the unity of the party or prevent it
from achieving its goal,'' says a statement from the Democratic
    party.

MOST PROTESTERS READY FOR NEW RALLIES

Statistics agency ``Argument'' conducted a survey of public
opinion in Belgrade about the readiness of Belgraders to protest.
More than half of the people who took part in the street protests
during the past two months said that they would protest again
``for new aims.'' About 22% of former protesters were against the
continuation of the rallies, and the same number thought that the
protests should last until all demands have been met. During the
past two months, only 9% protesters thought about giving up.

MOST OF BELGRADE SCHOOLS CONTINUE STRIKING

The teachers' strike committee called for the protests to
continue, Beta reports. It is thought that 161 of Belgrade's 276
schools will not work on Monday. Teachers will gather in front of
government offices, where they will hand in a written demand,
addressed to the Slobodan Milosevic and the Serbian government,
    that negociations are reopened.

NEW POLITICAL PARTY OF HUNGARIANS IN VOJVODINA FOUNDED

Former President of the Democratic union of Vojvodina Hungarians
and Serbian MP Andras Agoston was at the inaugural meeting of his
new political party, the Democratic party of Vojvodina Hungarians,
on Saturday. He said that autonomy similar to that given to Serbs
living in Croatia ought to be considered for Hungarians living in
    Vojvodina.
