  20 OLD NEW PRIME MINISTER

The Yugoslav Parliament on Thursday elected Radoje Kontic for
another term as Prime Minister of Yugoslavia. Zajedno
representatives did not attend the session. After being sworn in
Mr Kontic expressed the hope that his government would lead
25 Yugoslavia into the 21st century as the most democratic and most
      prosperous country in the region.

      NEW YUGOSLAV GOVERNMENT

The leader of the Socialist Democrat Party of Montenegro, Zarko
Rakicevic, on Friday said that the new Yugoslav Government line-up
30 revealed Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic's intention to take
the helm of Yugoslavia, as all the new ministers are his people.

``With Radoje Kontic, who doesn't interfere, with two tame vice-
presidents and control over international policy and the foreign
affairs ministry, Milosevic is preparing the ground for a final
35 step which would be perilous for both Serbia and Montenegro,''
said Mr Rakicevic. He added that with Milosevic at the helm of the
federal state, there was no hope for the return of Yugoslavia to
international institutions or recovery of the country's economy.

Democratic Party spokesman, Slobodan Vuksanovic said on Friday
40 that the lin-up of the new Yugoslav Government guaranteed that
nothing would be changed in the government's work, and that there
would be no change in the policy which for years had led the
country into critical isolation and poverty.

The newly appointed vice-president of the Yugoslav Government,
45 Danko Djuric, said on Friday that he had been nominated for the
postion by the Socialist Party of Serbia as an independent expert.
Mr Djuric stressed that he was not a member of any party.

      MONTENGRIN SUMMIT

Milan Gajovic, a top official of the Socialist Democratic Party of
50 Montenegro, on Thursday told Radio B92 that the party's management
would convene next Monday. The session is to discuss differences
in the tactical approaches of President Momir Bulatovic and Prime
Minister Milo Djukanovic. The party would also discuss recent
attacks on Mr Djukanovic in the Serbian media. Mr Gajovic added
55 that the management of the ruling Montengrin party would state its
position on these issues clearly and precisely at a media
      conference after the meeting.

      RALLIES FOR BK TELEVISION

Serbian Renewal Movement MP Bojana Ristic on Thursday called on
60 the citizens of all free cities in Serbia to begin protest rallies
in support of BK Television. Mrs Ristic said that BK had broken
the deadlock on information in southern Serbia.

      DEMOCRATIC LEFT?

Belgrade daily Blic quotes top socialist officials on Friday as
65 saying that the Socialist Party of Serbia and the Yugoslav United
Left would hold a congress in Belgrade on May 7, at which the two
parties would unite. Blic says that the united party will probably
called the Democratic Left, and that this year's parliamentary and
presidential elections will be brought forward.
