    YUGOSLAV ARMY ON ALERT

The Supreme Headquarters of the the Yugoslav Army on Friday
announced that the army had begun measures to protect Yugoslavia
against fallout from the Albanian crisis. The Army Information
Serbice said that Yugoslavia was not directly endangered, but that
some negative effects were possible. The army is believed to be
concern that Albanian extremists in Kosovo may emulate the rebel
seizure of police and army weapons in Albania.

    SFOR EVACUATES FOREIGNERS IN ALBANIA

Six SFOR transport helicopters arrived at Podgorica airport on
Friday, en route to Albania, where they will evacuate foreign
diplomats and others. Yugoslavia has permitted the use of its
territory for humanitarian evacuations. Yugoslav citizens in
    Tirana will also be evacuated.

    DJUKANOVIC DISCUSSES FEDERATION IN US

Fonet quotes American sources as saying that the future of the
Yugoslav federation was the main topic for discussions between
Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and US officials in
Washington last week. This had not previously been reported
because of the sensitivity of this issue, and because of the state
media war between Serbia and Montenegro. However, Mr Djukanovic
had openly referred to Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic and
his policies as the main obstacle to Yugoslavia's recovery from
crisis. Immediately before returning to Yugoslavia, Mr Djukanovic
repeated that the future of Yugoslavia did not belong to Mr
    Milosevic.
