      ZAJEDNO RIFT

President of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO), and one of the
25 Zajedno coalition leaders, Vuk Draskovic told reporters on
Thursday that the unity of Zajedno was threatened by disrespect
for the coalition agreement, secret talks with Slobodan Milosevic
and the Socialist Party, advertising agencies and public opinion
      polls, FoNet reported.

30 Mr. Draskovic said that as Zajedno had already agreed that their
presidential candidate for the elections would be proposed by the
SPO, his party viewed as unfair Zoran Djindjic's reaction to Mr.
Draskovic's nomination. Mr. Draskovic added that he ``had been the
last to know'' about Mr. Djindjic's secret meeting with Slobodan
35 Milosevic in January, at the peak of street protests.

``Talks of that kind should not be conducted behind your partner's
back. I was convinced that it was a rumour started by the UDBA
(Serbian State Security). It was not until February 25 that
Djindjic admitted that he had had such a meeting with the Serbian
  40 President.''

Mr. Draskovic also slammed the coalitions's reliance on
advertising agencies and pollsters for policy formulation and said
their role should be limited to consultancy.

Mr. Draskovic concluded by saying that the SPO would not accept
45 the nomination within Zajedno of any other candidate for the
presidential elections ``because this would mean breaking a firm
      agreement.''

Mr. Draskovic commented on Serb-Albanian talks in New York that
although both sides still held very different views on the future
50 of Kosovo they had agreed to hold the next round of talks in
      Serbia.

Commenting on the reported rift between Mr. Draskovic and Mr.
Djindjic over Zajedno's candidate for the presidential elections,
Democratic party leader Zoran Djindic told journalists that the
55 two leaders only disagreed about the finer details and not about
who would run. He stressed that it was a matter of first ensuring
that fair conditions for the elections were in place rather than
who would be the coalition's nominee.

FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA TO AGREE DUAL CITIZENSHIP WITH
  60 CROATIA

Yugoslav Foreign Minister Milan Milutinovic on Thursday met with
President of Eastern Slavonia Goran Hadzic, Radio B92 reported.
The Yugoslav Foreign Minister stressed the importance of dual
Yugoslav-Croat citizenship for Serbs in the region and said that
65 Yugoslavia was ready to settle the issue, either through the
proposed bilateral agreement with Croatia or through its own
      internal legal system.

MILUTINOVIC SENDS DRAFT AGREEMENT ON DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS TO
      BOSNIA

70 Yugoslav Foreign Minister Milan Milutinovic on Thursday forwarded
a draft Agreement on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations
between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia to the Presidency of the BiH and the Bosnian Foreign
Minister, Belgrade state media reported on Thursday.

75 SESELJ SAYS DJINDJIC IS INCOMPETANT MAYOR

President of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Vojislav Seselj on
Thursday announced that the Radicals would demand the replacement
      of Belgrade Mayor Zoran Djindjic.

Mr. Seselj accused Mayor Djindjic of incompetence and lack of
80 concern over his duties as Mayor.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY ACCUSES SESELJ OF SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY

The Democratic Party (DS) on Thursday said the walk out of members
of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) and the Socialist Party of
Serbia from a session of Belgrade's City Assembly was ``proof that
85 Seselj was cooperating with the Left Coalition,'' Radio B92
      reported.

The DS stressed that ``whenever there was a chance for Yugoslavia
to become a democratic country, Seselj jumped to the rescue of his
employers and blocked the country's democratisation.''

90 BOGOLJUB KARIC TO STAND FOR PRESIDENT

Owner of BK Telecom Bogoljub Karic announced his candidacy for the
presidential elections on Thursday. Asked by NIN magazine, if he
would run, Mr. Karic replied: ``I will stand as long as the
electoral conditions are free and fair. I am fed up with sitting
95 on the sidewalk and watching the collapse of Serbia. My candidacy
means that I do not want us to wait for the 21st century until the
year 2050. I want us to enter 21st century in 2001.'' In his
interview for the NIN, Mr. Karic stressed that the essence of
progress lay in economic reform without ideological or state
 100 restrictions.
