    OPPOSITION DELEGATION TO WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

    A 3-member delegation of the opposition coalition Zajedno will go
    to Davos, Switzerland, on Monday at the invitation of the World
    Economic Forum. Vojin Dimitrijevic, a member of the delegation,
    told Beta on Sunday that this was the first time that the Forum
    have invited non-government representatives to a meeting. He said
    that the delegation would present its plan for Serbia's re-entry
    into international institutions, and take the opportunity to meet
    ``democratically oriented'' leaders from neighbouring Croatia and
    Bosnia.


    ``NEZAVISNOST'' ORGANIZES DISCUSSION ON EXPERT ECONOMIC PROGRAMME

    The association of Branch Trade Unions 'Nezavisnost' will hold a
    discussion of the programme for rapid economic recovery, recently
    launched by a group of independent experts, on Monday. Many of its
    principles coincide with their own, said their statement on
    Sunday.


    ``POBJEDA:'' MONTENEGRO TO GO TO SEEK ITS OWN WAY

    Milan Lalic, chair of the Montenegrin Agency for Economic
    Restructuring and Foreign Investments, told the Montenegrin
    newspaper 'Pobjeda' on Sunday that Montenegro might seek
    cooperation with the international economic, financal and other
    organizations on its own. Mr. Lalic commented that the Yugoslav
    and Montenegrin economic plans for 1997 were based on the premise
    that the Yugoslav Federation would re-enter international economic
    and financal institutions.


    NO LOANS UNTIL CRISIS IN SERBIA IS SOLVED

    Berliner Bank will not pay out a $17m loan to the Montenegrin
    shipping company 'Jugooceania' for reconstruction of its fleet
    until the situation in Serbia is stabilised, Montena-Fax reported
    on Sunday.


    DEMOCRATIC PARTY DEMANDS THAT POLICE BE WITHDRAWN FROM STREETS

    Two opposition MPs have protested against the ``undeclared state
    of emergency'' implied by the huge police presence in the streets,
    said a Democratic [Zajedno] party statement on Sunday. The two MPs
    also accused the government of politicizing police activity, and
    demanded that the Serbian Interior Minister Zoran Sokolovic orders
    the police out of the streets of Serbia immediately.


    NIS STUDENTS CONTINUE THEIR PROTEST

    Miodrag Minic, representative of the student protest in Nis, said
    on Sunday that the students of the University of Nis would boycott
    lectures until their demands are met. Students announced they
    would continue their protest by marching on Sunday, and would join
    a general strike by teachers on Monday.


    KARADZIC: WAR MAY BREAK OUT OVER BRCKO

    Former President of 'Republika Srpska' Radovan Karadzic, gave a
    statement to Greek newspaper 'Eleteros Tipos', in which he said
    that if the problem of Brcko was not solved properly, the Serbs
    would start a new war. ``I am not a war criminal, I do not
    consider myself guilty. Maybe several hundreds of people were the
    victims of fanatic Serbian citizens. I cannot control them all,''
    said Karadzic.
