LEADER OF LIBERATION ARMY OF KOSOVO

Zahir Pajaziti, allegedly one of the leaders of The Liberation
Army of Kosovo, was killed during an attack on Serb police near
Vucitrn. Two more ethnic Albanians were killed and three policemen
were wounded in an exchange of fire, according to official reports
in Belgrade. The reports go on to say that there have been several
arrests and seizures of evidence in connection with terrorism over
the last few days. Large arsenals of weapons are also said to have
    been discovered.

WE ARE NOT A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION

Police are raiding the homes of ethnic Albanians searching for
Members of The National Movement For Liberation of Kosovo(NPOK),
according to reports from the Information Centre in Kosovo on
Saturday. The little -- known Albanian organization denied
involvement in terrorist activity and links with the Liberation
Army of Kosovo on Sunday. However their statement, published in
the Albanian language weekly 'Koha', went on to describe them as a
``national liberation organization'' which sees armed struggle as
the only way to free occupied Albanian territory. They criticized
the Democratic Union of Kosovo for its ``pacifist propaganda.''

IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREEMENT ON EDUCATION SHOULD BEGIN IN 10 DAYS

Representatives of the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo have demanded
that the Serbian authorities provide full school facilities for
Albanian pupils as agreed in the 'Agreement on normalization of
education' signed by Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic and
leader of the ethnic Albanians in Kosovo Ibrahim Rugova. The
Albanian representatives gave the Serbian authorities 10 days to
comply before they cancel the agreement, according to ``sources
close to the participants'' at the meeting, quoted in the Pristina
weekly in Albanian 'Koha' on Sunday.

RISTIC: NAT WEST WILL WORK SO LONG AS WE PAY IT

Ljubisa Ristic, president of the Yugoslav United Left (JUL),
dismissed as mere speculation reports that the London-based
company Nat West Market has decided to stop representing
Yugoslavia in the negotiations over Yugoslav foreign debts. ``So
long as we pay them, they will do their job without asking
questions about our internal political affairs,'' Mr. Ristic told
the 'Dnevni Telegraf' newspaper on Sunday. Mr. Ristic was on the
Yugoslav negotiating team that made the deal with Nat West Market
    last year.

MOCK: SERBIAN COMMUNISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR WAR IN FORMER YUGOSLAVIA

Alois Mock, the former Austrian Foreign Minister, rejected
allegations that the early recognition of Croatia, Slovenia and
Bosnia Herzegovina as seperate states by Austria, Germany and
others had precipitated the Bosnian war. In an interview with
Croatian newspaper ``Vjesnik'' Mr. Mock said that ``Serbian
Communists,'' namely ``Milosevic, his cronies and the army command
headquarters'' were mainly responsible for the war. Talking about
the issue of cooperation in South Eastern Europe, Mr. Mock
described the current U.S. initiative as poor, badly drafted and
motivated by U.S. competitiveness. He commented that the work
could be done better and more cheaply by the UN Economic
    Commission for Europe.
